1 serving = 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 2 g Matcha (1 tsp = 2.5 g)
  • 500 ml water (70–80 °C)
  • 1 slice of fresh orange
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup, honey or similar

Method

  1. Place the matcha powder into a bowl, sieving if necessary, and add a splash of cold water. Stir thoroughly until the powder has completely dissolved and a smooth, lump-free paste is formed.
  2. Pour 500ml of water into a small saucepan and add the cinnamon stick and cloves. Heat the mixture over medium heat without bringing it to a boil and let the spices infuse for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the orange slice and maple syrup, honey or another sweetener to taste to the spiced water and stir gently. Let the mixture sit for another minute so that the citrus note comes through slightly.
  4. Remove the spices from the water and pour the hot spiced water into two cups. Add the whipped matcha paste to the cups and stir gently until everything is well mixed.
  5. Serve the matcha punch immediately while it is still warm.
Good to know

Suitable Matcha:The Organic Classic Matcha is perfect for a non-alcoholic matcha punch, but the Organic Signature Matcha is also a good choice.

Citrus variant:Instead of orange, you can also use a slice of lemon if you prefer a fresher, slightly sour note.

More intense spice flavor:For additional flavor, you can add star anise, or half a teaspoon of freshly grated ginger for a slight spiciness.
