Origin
Deep in the mountains of Shizuoka, where the Abe River flows through mist-shrouded valleys, tea plants thrive in a landscape of rare beauty. Nourished by clear spring water and enveloped by cool mountain air, the leaves develop a particularly delicate aroma. In this region, which centuries ago produced teas for the powerful Tokugawa shogunates, a matcha is created that combines history and nature in a unique way.
Manufacturing
The leaves are harvested at the ideal time, when aroma, freshness, and color are at their peak. They are then carefully processed to preserve the full spectrum of flavor. Every step—from steaming to fine grinding—follows the craftsmanship that has made Shizuoka famous as one of Japan's most important tea-growing regions. The result is a matcha that embodies tradition and the highest quality.
The taste
Our Shizuoka matcha impresses with its delicate aroma and pleasantly balanced depth. A gentle freshness combines with a light umami note and an elegant, smooth finish. Thanks to its harmonious balance, it is ideal for traditional preparations such as usucha (classic matcha tea) and koicha (thick, intense matcha), as well as for modern variations such as a creamy matcha latte.

Matcha tea preparation
After a little practice, matcha tea can be prepared in no time. Not only does it serve as pure enjoyment, but it also opens the door to many other creative recipes.

1. Seven
Carefully sift 2 grams of matcha (about 1 teaspoon) into a bowl to prevent lumps from forming.

2. Heating
Add approx. 70 ml of hot water. It should no longer boil to protect the matcha.

3. Stir
Chase the matcha and water together in a Z-shaped motion for about 20 seconds.

4. Enjoy
As soon as a creamy foam forms, enjoy the tea or use it for creations such as matcha latte.
