Origin
Deep in the mountains of Shizuoka, where the Abe River flows through mist-covered valleys, the tea plants thrive in a landscape of rare beauty. Nourished by clear spring water and enveloped by cool mountain air, the leaves develop a particularly fine aroma. In this traditional region, which already produced teas for the powerful Tokugawa shoguns centuries ago, a matcha is created that uniquely combines history and nature.
Manufacturing
The leaves are harvested at the ideal time when aroma, freshness, and color reach their peak. This is followed by gentle processing that preserves the full flavor spectrum. Every step – from steaming to fine grinding – follows the craftsmanship that has made Shizuoka famous as one of Japan's most important tea-growing regions. The result is a Matcha that embodies tradition and the highest quality.
Taste
Our matcha from Shizuoka impresses with its fine aroma and a pleasantly balanced depth. A gentle freshness combines with a light umami note and an elegant, soft finish. Thanks to its harmonious balance, it is excellently suited for traditional preparation as Usucha (classic matcha tea) and Koicha (thick, intense matcha), as well as for modern variants like a creamy matcha latte.

Matcha tea preparation
After some practice, matcha tea is prepared in no time. It serves not only as a pure delight but also opens the door to many other creative recipes.

1. Seven
Sift 2 grams of matcha (about 1 teaspoon) carefully into a bowl to prevent clumping.

2. Heating up
Pour about 70 ml of hot water. It should no longer be boiling to protect the Matcha.

3. Stirring
Whisk matcha and water with a Chasen in Z-shaped movements for about 20 seconds.

4. Enjoy
As soon as a creamy foam forms, enjoy the tea or use it for creations like Matcha Latte.
