General
What is Matcha?
Matcha is finely ground green tea powder made from young tea leaves. It has a distinctive taste and offers many health benefits. High-quality Matcha is mainly produced in Japan and used in drinks as well as dishes.
What are the advantages of Matcha?
Matcha is especially valued for its gentle and long-lasting energy supply, which comes without the typical highs and lows of coffee or energy drinks. Added to this are the diverse health benefits and, of course, the unique taste. Here you can learn more.
Why is matcha so expensive?
Matcha production is labor-intensive. The young tea leaves are hand-picked, dried, and ground into fine powder in a lengthy process. Cheap matcha is often made from older leaves, which affects quality and taste.
What is the difference between the Classic and Signature Matcha?
Ceremonial (Signature) Matcha is the highest quality level and is usually drunk pure. Premium (Classic) Matcha is also high quality but is especially suitable for lattes and other mixed drinks. Learn more here.
Is matcha caffeinated?
Yes, matcha contains caffeine. However, the effect is gentler and lasts longer, supported by L-theanine, which simultaneously has a calming effect.
Does matcha have side effects?
As with any caffeinated beverage, matcha can cause insomnia, heart palpitations, or digestive problems in large quantities. Moderate consumption is therefore recommended.
How long is Matcha good for?
We guarantee a shelf life of at least 6 months. You can find the exact expiration date on the back of the packaging.
How do I store matcha properly?
Store matcha cool, dry, and dark – ideally in the refrigerator. Close the package carefully after each use; it is resealable.
How much matcha is in a package?
A package contains 60 g of matcha, enough for 30 to 60 servings of tea or latte.
