1 serving = 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 2 g Matcha (1 tsp = 2.5 g)
  • 30-50 ml of water (70–80 °C)
  • 200 ml oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup, honey or similar

Method

  1. Place the matcha powder into a bowl, sieving if necessary, and add a splash of cold water. Stir thoroughly until the powder has completely dissolved and a smooth, lump-free paste is formed.
  2. Pour the hot, but not boiling, water into the paste and beat the mixture with quick, W-shaped movements until a foamy matcha is formed.
  3. Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir in the cocoa powder until completely dissolved. Warm the mixture without bringing it to a boil, frothing it slightly if necessary.
  4. Pour the hot chocolate milk into a cup and add the whipped matcha. Stir gently and add maple syrup, honey or another sweetener to taste.
  5. Enjoy the hot matcha chocolate.
Good to know

Suitable Matcha:For a hot matcha chocolate, the Organic Classic Matcha ideal, but also the Organic Signature Matcha fits well with it.

White chocolate:For a sweeter version, you can replace the cocoa powder with white chocolate. Simply heat the milk and stir in small pieces of white chocolate until melted.

Lighter Latte:For a less intense and lighter matcha latte, you can replace some of the oat milk with water in the final step.

Creamy taste:Oat milk adds a natural sweetness and makes the hot matcha chocolate particularly creamy. Alternatives such as almond or soy milk can also be used and complement the flavor in their own way.
