1 serving = 1 cup
Ingredients
- 2 g Matcha (1 tsp = 2.5 g)
- 30-50 ml of water (70–80 °C)
- 200 ml oat milk
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup, honey or similar
Method
- Place the matcha powder into a bowl, sieving if necessary, and add a splash of cold water. Stir thoroughly until the powder has completely dissolved and a smooth, lump-free paste is formed.
- Pour the hot, but not boiling, water into the paste and beat the mixture with quick, W-shaped movements until a foamy matcha is formed.
- Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir in the cocoa powder until completely dissolved. Warm the mixture without bringing it to a boil, frothing it slightly if necessary.
- Pour the hot chocolate milk into a cup and add the whipped matcha. Stir gently and add maple syrup, honey or another sweetener to taste.
- Enjoy the hot matcha chocolate.
