The Iced Matcha Latte is the refreshing variant of the classic Matcha Latte. It combines the natural freshness of green tea with the softness of milk and is served cold. The result is a creamy, mild drink with a balanced flavor. Unlike pure Matcha, it is lighter and gentler, yet remains harmonious and invigorating. No wonder it has become a summer classic, easy to prepare, versatile, and perfect for enjoying Matcha in a modern way.

Ingredients
2 g Matcha
60-100 ml Water
100-200 ml Milk
Ice cubes
Something to sweeten (optional)
Method
Sift the matcha powder into a bowl and add 1–2 tablespoons of warm water. Stir thoroughly until the powder is completely dissolved and a smooth paste forms.
Pour in the 70–80 °C warm water and whisk the matcha with a chasen in quick, W-shaped motions until a fine foam forms.
Fill a glass with ice and cold milk of your choice and pour the matcha over it. If you like your iced matcha latte sweetened, add a natural sugar alternative like maple syrup or honey.
Stir briefly and enjoy the iced matcha latte.
Good to know
Suitable Matcha: For Iced Matcha Latte, the Organic Basic Matcha, as well as the Organic Classic Matcha works well. Since milk mutes fine nuances, an absolute premium Matcha is not necessary. A stronger Matcha stands out better and remains clearly recognizable.
Cold Brew: Matcha dissolves a bit easier and unfolds more aroma with warm water. For a milder, slightly sweet note, you can also stir it directly with cold water.
Temperature: If you don’t have a thermometer, let boiling water stand for about 5 minutes. This way, the temperature is around 80 °C. Too hot water makes Matcha bitter and can destroy the fine aromas, so it’s better to prepare it a bit cooler.
Milk alternatives: Oat milk fits particularly well for Iced Matcha Latte, as it highlights the natural sweetness of the Matcha. Coconut milk brings its own slightly sweet note and makes the drink creamier. Soy, rice, almond, or other plant-based milks also work well and change the taste in their own way.
