Premium Matcha thrives under the warm sun of southern Japan. The leaves of the Yutakamidori cultivar are selected with the greatest care during the harvest in June, guaranteeing an incomparable taste experience. After harvesting, the leaves are finely ground. Every new food often requires a period of getting used to until you find the right preparation and develop a preference for it. However, it is understandable that matcha does not appeal to everyone. That's why you can test our matcha within 30 days. If you don't like it, just send it back. We will then refund you the purchase price.

1. The color should be bright and vibrant green. A yellowish or brownish color indicates poor quality.
2. A fresh smell with a sweet note. If the matcha smells musty or very bitter, it is of lower quality.
3. When it comes to taste, a good matcha impresses with its sweet and mild note.
4. Other signs can include organic certification, an exceptionally fine consistency and a higher price.

Interestingly, lumps in matcha are not a sign of poor quality. In fact, high-quality matcha that is ground very finely tends to form lumps even with minimal moisture. Lower quality matcha, which tends to be ground more coarsely, shows this tendency less strongly.

To prevent lumps from forming in matcha, we recommend straining the matcha powder through a fine sieve before preparing it.
